“Two-Headed Cop”, an animated film noir, exhibiting at San Diego Comic Con, booth #2445

Figment Studios is pleased to announce that Two-Headed Cop, their animated short film currently in production, will be exhibiting at the AnimationRigs.com booth (#2445) of the San Diego Comic-Con, taking place July 11th – 15th, 2012 at the San Diego Convention Center.

Co-created by animation industry vets Derek Friesenborg and Brian Ormiston, Two-Headed Cop is a computer-animated short film combining the absurdist humor of classic cartoons with the dark sophistication of film noir. Writer and director Friesenborg is excited to share their two-headed protagonist with the Comic-Con conference goers.

“There’s nothing quite like Two-Headed Cop out there”, says Friesenborg, “and I can’t think of a better place to finally share it with the world than at Comic-Con, because the audience there is such a receptive and enthusiastic one. We’ve been working literally for years on this project, and I’m super excited to see how people react to it.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and chat with Friesenborg, Ormiston, and AnimationRigs.com’s founder Kevin Freeman. Concept artwork, character designs, movie clips, and other visual development pieces will be on display, as well as exclusive Two-Headed Cop merchandise and special offers.

Two-Headed Cop follows the gritty story of Ray and Ray as they battle crime and occasionally each other to upend Fat City’s criminal element. Framed for an assault on the town’s most beloved entertainer, Two-Headed Cop becomes a fugitive from the law. To clear their name, they must descend into the seedy underbelly of Fat City on a journey into the dark, tilted world of carnies, goons, grifters, pet markets, fine haberdashery… and a mysterious figure from out of their past.

Two-Headed Cop is being produced through a partnership with online animation studio AnimationRigs.com using their proprietary pipeline and digital character technology.
