Apple may be ready to ditch Google Maps in iOS 6 for their own map tech

Years ago, Apple purchased C3 Technologies, a company that makes real-time maps and mapping software, and people assumed it was so that Apple could at some point, create their own map software to replace Google maps, and now it looks like it could be coming in iOS 6.

C3 has maps just as good as Google, but C3’s claim to fame, and the reason they were so valuable to Apple is that they’re really damn good at creating 3D maps from 2D satellite pictures.
