Is 4chan really moderated by cops as an anti-pedo sting operation?
So a few days ago, I was on /s/, grabbing some pics to put in my FOTD folders and before I left 4chan, I stopped by /b/ briefly to see if there was anything interesting going on. Someone had started a thread, rightly bitching about the amount of CP on /b/ and wondering why the admins often seemed to let CP threads go on for way too long.

And then someone posted the above post from a different board from a little while ago in which someone who says they worked for moot at one point claims that 2 years ago, 4chan was right on the verge of getting shut down by authorities for its lax handling of child pornography when moot struck a deal to move the servers to a location where the site could be constantly monitored by cops and that all threads would be archived, all IPs logged for future use.
Don’t know if this is true or not and pedos should be caught and put in jail, but I still find it a bit disturbing that if it is true that on one hand, moot praises 4chan as an example of the benefits of free speech on the internet, all the while having cops constantly monitor the boards. If all they’re doing is looking for people who post CP, that’s one thing, but rarely do things like this stop at this one thing.
