Daily Discussion: The death penalty… yes or no?

Recently, Connecticut became the 16th US state to outlaw the death penalty. There are a number of arguments against the death penalty— some say that it’s not moral for the government to execute people, some argue that it’s not worth it when it turns out there are innocent people on death row, but Connecticut went with the pragmatic, economic option— the death penalty doesn’t deter violent crime and it costs the state a lot more to put people on death row, where they often sit for decades, going through dozens of appeals.

So what do you think? Death penalty… yes or no?
