Huge gallery of visual changes to Star Wars Ep. IV from the original to the 1997 special edition to the 2004 special edition

George Lucas just loves going back and making little tweaks to his movies. In the original ‘Star Wars’, Lucas has made two rounds of changes to the 1977 film, first in the 1997 special edition and then again in 2004. Most of these changes were purely clean-up work— removing grain and scratches, improving colors, improving the visual definition, etc., but he also made some fairly drastic changes, like replacing puppets with CGI, adding scenes and digital backgrounds.

Drew Stewart has put together a huge gallery of visual changes between the 1997 special edition of Episode IV and the 2004 special edition, and larger changes from the 1977 original.
