Elfquest movie killed again, Warner Bros says it’s “too much like The Hobbit”
Once again, the hopes of an Elfquest movie appear to be dashed after WB killed the project, saying it was “too much like The Hobbit”. Well, maybe from a marketing perspective, because Elfquest is pretty damn unlike The Hobbit. I guess you can only have one fantasy movie per year or something or everyone just gets totally confused.
Elfquest co-creator Wendy Pini posted this reaction on Facebook:
After close to four years of suspense – and longer than four years of your much-appreciated interest and support – the word has come down from Warner Bros. And the word is “no.” Their simple explanation is that they don’t want to compete with The Hobbit. This was a possibility, among several, that we were prepared for. It is a relief, at last, to know.

Okay… so there might never be an Elfquest movie. I might just have to accept that.
