Newt Gingrich thinks child labor laws are stupid
While on one hand I kind of understand where he’s going with this, putting kids to work earlier isn’t going to raise families out of poverty. Child labor laws weren’t enacted as some evil way to make families poor, they were put into place to make kids go to school and to prevent companies from taking advantage of little kids. I get his point about instilling work ethic, but forcing kids to clean shitty toilets for minimum wage isn’t the way to go about it.
