Daily Discussion: The Kindle Fire launches today. You getting one? Do you have a tablet? How often do you use it?

Today is the day the Amazon Kindle Fire launches, the most anticipated tablet since the original iPad. It’s got a 7” screen, a good price and a lots of bells and whistles. But is it something you’d think about getting? Do you already have a tablet, and if so, how much do you use it?

I’ve got an original iPad that I use quite a bit for movies, games on a bigger screen than my phone and it’s great for travel. Would I get a Fire? Probably not. I probably won’t replace the iPad until maybe the iPad 3 comes out, but by that time there also might be some really impressive Android tablets out, especially if they’re quad core and running Android 4. Right now, the only Android tablet that I’d consider replacing the iPad with is the Asus eee Transformer, but that’s just me.
