Tim Burton was considering Ray Liotta as Batman

Back in 1988, when Tim Burton was casting for his Batman movie, the actor he really wanted for the role of Batman was Ray Liotta, who in 1990, would go on to blow the fuck up in Goodfellas. But in 1988, he was asked to play Batman, a role he turned down because it was a “serious part”.

“I remember right after a movie I did, ‘Something Wild,’ Tim Burton wanted to meet me for Batman. And at that time, I said, ‘What are you kidding me? I’m an actor.’ But now it’s changed; now it’s good because if you do that you get other movies.”

I really liked Michael Keaton as Batman, but Ray Liotta? That would have been perfectly acceptable as well.
