Sally Menke, Tarantino’s longtime editor dies suddenly at 56

Veteran film editor and longtime collaborator with Quentin Tarantino was pronounced dead today at the age of 56. Menke had been the editor on all of Tarantino’s films from Reservoir Dogs straight through Inglourious Basterds. She was nominated for an Oscar for Pulp Fiction and Basterds. Menke had been out hiking and was reported missing, where her body was found this morning at the bottom of a ravine.

While Tarantino has a distinct visual directing style, it was Menke behind the scenes, who gave all of his movies a particular quirky touch that will be immensely missed, not only from Tarantino movies but from the entire of filmdom.
