The first stills from The Lorax movie look amazing

Looking at these first stills from the upcoming Lorax film adaptation, I can’t help but marvel at how far computer animation has come, to the point where animators can do almost anything they want and make it look spectacular. It’s a far cry from Toy Story, where Pixar purposely had to limit the screen time of anything with non-rigid joints because it looked weird.

In the original 1971 book, Dr. Seuss never showed the face of the Once-ier, the villain of the tale, but in the movie, we do get a good look at him (above), a fresh-faced young man, voice by Ed Helms, whose destructive actions warp his world and his own mind until he turns into the pair of eyes and hands behind wooden slats as depicted in the book:
