An interview with Terry Gilliam from 1970 on his stop motion animation
One of the things that made Monty Python recognizably Monty Python other than the actors themselves were the stop motion animation sequences that ran in between skits on Monty Python’s Flying Circus and in various places in the Monty Python movies. Here, Terry Gilliam talks about those some of his animations for the show and how they were conceived.

‘Hook’s’ Rufio is getting his own movie, finally

One of the most endearing characters from the 1991 movie Hook was the punk kid Rufio, the leader of the Lost Boys and skateboarder extraordinaire. It would have been nice to have had a Rufio movie say in 1993, but I guess I’ll take one now, even if Dante Basco is too old for the role.

Right now, several smartphones deliver incredible photo and video quality in the palm of your hand, but that little chip above could soon be delivering 4K video resolution to your phone. That’s higher resolution than almost every HDTV on the planet and the same resolution many Hollywood studios have adapted.
Some in DC are pissed off that Kathryn Bigelow got high level access for her Osama bin Laden film

Academy award winning director Kathryn Bigelow is currently shooting her new movie, ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ about the hunt for and eventual killing of Osama bin Laden. But some in Washington are a bit alarmed that the Pentagon, White House and CIA opened up so much information to her and her screenwriters, much of which has not been made available to the public or to lawmakers.
All ten volumes of Neil Gaiman’s Sandman finally coming to one collection
DC is bringing out an all-ten-volumes-in-one-slipcase edition of Neil Gaiman’s Sandman. Gaiman writes, “I’m thrilled. You have no idea how long I’ve been asking DC to do one of these. (Er, about 16 years.)”
