Would you pay $30 / month for TV service from Apple through iTunes? [I Heart TV]
Rumor has it that Apple is shopping around a subscription service to TV networks that would give iTunes users a catch-all subscription for $30 a month. Nobody's jumped on board just yet, and of course networks have to work out their typical fears of such a service cutting into ratings and biting into cable revenue. However, at least one unnamed executive briefed on the plan says "I think they might get it right this time," and with Disney's cozy relationship with Apple there's reason believe they'd be the first to sign up.

So far, it's just rumors, but it seems an avenue that Apple's likely to go down. Would you pay $30 a month for TV service through iTunes? It might be cheaper than both cable and buying seasons or individual episodes on the current iTunes pricing model, as long as it's something that's easily streamable to your TV, it might not be a bad deal.

ehhh
if they are only offering tv i'm going to say no...if it was more of a package deal (internet/ tv / phone) then i would go with it
Greedo shot first!

doesn't seem like such a great deal to me, unless you could get as much programming as you can from regular cable... i mean, if i want limited programming i can watch any time, hulu and fancast are free and ondemand comes with my cable package
What, like you're so great?
I might consider that, if you
I might consider that, if you can get any number of shows you want, from any network, in HD.
But if any kind of contract is required, I'm out. Because you know that subscription would be useless during the summer.
Yeah
you could count me out...
...I'm pretty sure it would feel worth it for about a month max and then I'd be done with it. Now if it was $30 a month and you got the package zero was talking about PLUS music downloads, maybe I'd consider it.
Fanboys
The Apple fanboys are going to be all over this thing like white on rice.
Nope
I pay $60/mo for cable internet and another $20/mo for VOIP through Vonage. No regular TV inputs.
My system is set up wth uTorrent watching RSS feeds for new shows and downloads them automatically. MediaPortal then finds said shows when done and presents them to us to watch on the 42" TV connected to my computer.
Perfect for our home.
