Have you ever had a dream about this guy? [WTF]
I don't know if this is some sort of mystery viral or what, but I do know that the below sketch gives me the fucking creeps and I have no idea why. According to ThisMan.org, this is a sketch of a guy that thousands of people around the world have reported having dreams about. If you're a Forums beta guy, you'll know that I like documenting my dreams, but as far as I can remember, I've never dreamed about this guy. So why does he creep me the fuck out?

The story from ThisMan.org is:
In January 2006 in New York, the patient of a well-known psychiatrist draws the face of a man that has been repeatedly appearing in her dreams. In more than one occasion that man has given her advice on her private life. The woman swears she has never met the man in her life.
That portrait lies forgotten on the psychiatrist's desk for a few days until one day another patient recognizes that face and says that the man has often visited him in his dreams. He also claims he has never seen that man in his waking life.
The psychiatrist decides to send the portrait to some of his colleagues that have patients with recurrent dreams. Within a few months, four patients recognize the man as a frequent presence in their own dreams. All the patients refer to him as THIS MAN.
From January 2006 until today, at least 2000 people have claimed they have seen this man in their dreams, in many cities all over the world: Los Angeles, Berlin, Sao Paulo, Tehran, Beijing, Rome, Barcelona, Stockholm, Paris, New Dehli, Moskow etc.
At the moment there is no ascertained relation or common trait among the people that have dreamed of seeing this man. Moreover, no living man has ever been recognized as resembling the man of the portrait by the people who have seen this man in their dreams.
The theories of the bald, bushy-browed guy range from some sort of Jungian archetype to the face of God to some real-life human who invades other people's dreams. Or it could just be a generic face that we perceive as being unique and recognizable. Because really, how often do you actually remember the details of someone else's face from a dream? It is bizarre however, if this is real, that people all over the world have sketched the same face-- balding, with bushy eyebrows, kind, sloping eyes, low-hanging ears, a short wide face with a cleft chin.
Dunno, smells like bullshit to me, though I did used to have dreams about a secret government program where people were trained in their dreams to invade other people's dreams, so that's scientific proof and when I was a kid, I used to have recurring dreams involving a tall, sexy African queen in colorful robes that was some sort of shaman observing my life from a distance. Discuss.

You know I was thinking the same thing because I remember seeing this picture years ago with a story tied to it ending up being Wooly Willy. I know there is a version of Wooly Willy that looks exactly like the picture above but I couldn't seem to find it online.

This'll probably end up being some fake advertising scam for the new NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET turd, I mean, movie. Wait, Micheal Bay's involved? I mean turd.

Gah, saw that last night in an Escapist thread. Gives me the willies (kinda of a squat-faced Sylar from Heroes, eh?). However, I did get to sleep last night (thnx, Unisom), but now the waking memories of a sketch may haunt my day.

I dream in color
I can read (numbers appear normally and not reversed)
I have died
I feel, taste, smell and hear
I can manipulate the events of the dream if needed.

Have you researched lucid dreaming?
I like to call myself a semi-lucid dreamer as I can't control all aspects of my dreams, but like you, I can if I find it necessary. I also dream in color, read (and most often remember what I read when I wake up), I've died (and resurrected myself afterward like I had "another guy" in a video game), and can use all of my senses. Oh, and some of my dreams are also like movies where I'm just watching events play out (sometimes first person, sometimes as a witness) in a very dramatic way.
It's good times... and I also have some weird, strange, and pretty eff'd up dreams... and some of them are even repeated. I once had an action-type dream where my group and I barely got out alive and when I had it again, I made a bee line for the escape hatch and sat around waiting for the building to explode as we rode away in the helicopter.
^_^ You are not alone.
But I have no idea who that guy is... and if he shows up in my dreams tonight, I'll be freaked.
