Free Movie Friday: Mr. Warmth, The Don Rickles Project [I Heart Movies]
Don Rickles is one of those rare comedians, one of those rare people that made it big without comprimising, without apologizing, just doing what he does best. I'd like to think that the style of humor and weirdness you find here on IHC is similar to that of Don Rickles-- a no bullshit approach to keeping people entertained. In any case, this is an absolutely hilarious look at one of the funniest people to ever walk this Earth. So enjoy.

I haven't watched all 90
I haven't watched all 90 minutes of this yet, so I don't know if they mention this in the docu, but my favorite Don Rickles story was when he was just starting out and Frank Sinatra walked into the club with his whole crew. Don says: "Hey Frank, make yourself at home. Hit somebody!" Everyone freezes, looking at Frank, who stares, then just laughs his head off, so everyone else starts laughing. He might not have been so famous if he hadn't made Frank laugh first.

Yeah, they do cover that pretty well that it was Sinatra that made Don Rickles a star by introducing him to all the right people and getting him into all the right clubs. One of my favorite bits was the whole thing where he accidentally broke Johnny Carson's cigarette box while guest hosting the Tonight Show and then Carson stormed out of the Tonight Show studio, cameras in tow to interrupt Rickles in the middle of filming a show to ask him about the box.
