Darna is an established superheroine, in the Phillipines anyway. Plus, as JayBar said, she has nice boobs. Swatting at a swarm of bees is hardly the strangest superhero thing I've seen on TV or in a movie. Anybody remember the Doctor Strange movie? Or how about Supergirl?

let it be construed that Darna is getting the disrespect here. After having found this (and holy shit wait 'till I show  you guys what I found by proxy), it brings me back to the very fact that the only really interesting TV or film is done by less than stable nations with no money putting everything they've got creatively and culture-wise into their entertainment. I mean it's fun to laugh at Turkish Superman or whatever, but those dudes were doing the best they could...with a western concept back when box-offices and distribution meant anything. Note I didn't say it was good.. but for sheer insanity and creative drive just youtube what's coming out of Nigeria...

I can't wait to see what happens when a million little Scorceses or Fellinis start making an actual effort. Oh, rants, what can't you do?
