Can't Miss Russian Action Films: Black Lightning [I Heart Movies]

No, this Timur Bekmambetov produced Russian action film isn't about DC Comic's afro'd and butterfly collared superhero. Yeah, I was disappointed, too. But it does still look pretty awesome. This trailer is entirely in Russian, so if you don't speak Russian, basically, the movie is about a college student that comes across a flying black Volga that somehow turns him into the defender of Moscow. Believe it or not, Black Lightning was made for a mere $8 million. Bekmambetov calls it "Russia's response to Transformers and Batman". Hell, it looks way better than Transformers.

..the movie isn't directed by Timur at all, it's by Dmitriy Kiselev and Alexandr Voitinsk.

I don't know if it's just because the movie is Russian (I seem to forgive Indian and Asian movies for a whole lot more than American movies), but I'm surprised there could be a movie combining such a ridiculous idea with a dramatic presentation and still look like a ton of fun.
