25 years ago today, the USSR celebrated the 67th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution. If the October part seems confusing, the revolution took place on October 25th on the Julian calendar, which is actually November 7th on the Gregorian calendar. Anyway, this was a massive holiday, and a real point of pride for the communist government. If communism produced one thing, it was the ability to make huge parades.
