One of the movies that many people are thinking will end up several Oscar nominations-- probably best picture and best actor for Sean Penn is Milk, the bio-pic about Harvey Milk, the first openly gay person to be elected to public office in California and who was tragically assassinated by a fellow city supervisor in 1978. If you're not familiar with Harvey Milk, you could always just Wikipedia the shit or you could watch this Oscar-winning documentary on his life and familiarize yourself with him before you see Milk. Or at least it's a fascinating piece of American history.

I'm honestly not really a fan of most anime or manga or whatever the fuck you want to call it. There are some absolutely brilliant ones out there that I love-- Akira, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Appleseed-- but for the most part, I'm a little put off by the giant hornet eyes and the sparkles and all that crap. So if anyone ever gives you shit about how anime is awesome and won't listen to your "well yes sometimes, but most of the time it's complete crap" argument, show them this clip.

Whether you like Obama or not, you have to admit he has some of the snazziest graphic design of any candidate for president-- ever.  He's done a great job of adapting his iconic Obama logo for groups such as African-Americans, Latinos, Asian Americans, Veternas, Republicans, etc.  But one group that he's sorely overlooked is the gay Satanist vote.
