Blowfly was an early rap act from the 70s who was notorious for writing dirty rhymes years and years before it became standard for rap music. Born Clarence Reid, his stage name came from his grandmother, who said that he was "nastier than a blowfly" after she caught him singing "The Twist" with the lyrics "Suck my dick".
