It started on August 9, 2008, exactly 70 years since George Orwell wrote his first diary entry on August 9, 1938.  The Orwell Prize, in association with the Orwell Trust, will be publishing Orwell's diary entries, day by day on the Orwell Prize blog, each exactly 70 years since it was originally written.

The diaries so far are pretty subdued, the kind of stuff that many people write about on their blogs that no one normally cares about, but in the context of gaining insight into the life of a writer like Orwell, it makes for far more interesting stuff.
