The BodyGuard armored crime-fighting glove. It's so bad.
Fake younger version of Tom Selleck not included.
If you’re a police officer or a soldier, you’ve only got two hands for things like a gun, a taser, punching bad guys in the face and opening doors for ladies. But with the BodyGuard armored crime-fighting glove, your arm is now a shield, a taser, a flashlight, a video camera, a laser pointer and a machine gun that shoots chainsaws. Sorry, was hoping for too much on that last part.
Brazil approves a massive new dam, makes Indians cry
Pictured above is Chief Raoni of the Kayapo tribe native to the Brazilian state of Pará, seen weeping after being delivered the news that newly elected Brazilian president Dilma Vana Rousseff approved the construction of the Belo Monte hydroelectric dam that will flood the homeland of over 40,000 indigenous people, forcing them to relocate.
DC Comics calls a "do over", starting everything over at #1s
DC Comics fans can go ahead and throw out all those carefully collected comics as they will all be irrelevant come September when the company calls a “do over.” Even premier title Action Comics (currently at issue #901 after over 75 years of continuous publication) will restart at #1.
What the shit? Someone's remaking Maniac Mansion? Tell me more.
If you’re a fan of old school point and click adventures, you’ve probably got a warm and fuzzy spot in your heart for Maniac Mansion. And if you do, you might be interested to know that a German group called Edison Interactive is remaking Maniac Mansion in its entirety with a Day of the Tentacle graphical update.
Sooo maybe there might just be a Hawkman movie after all?
Last week, there was a video going around the internet that was pretty funny about how other superheroes were sitting around at a bar, congratulating Green Lantern on getting his own movie, when Hawkman walks in, a little sore that he hasn’t had his movie yet. Guess what, Hawkman? Your time could be at hand.
I’ve been a fan of Dragon Quest ever since I got a copy of the original Dragon Quest (known in the US at the time as Dragon Warrior) free with a subscription to Nintendo Power. The series has always kind of been Square’s version of Final Fantasy lite, always in Final Fantasy’s shadow. But over the years, while FF has gone on to be a huge affair with cutting edge graphics and stories, Dragon Quest has pretty much stayed the same, and in that sense, it’s come to occupy a niche as one of the more popular traditional Japanese RPG titles, with simple graphics and a simple storyline, it’s continued to do much of what it’s always done, only making small changes over time.
Apparently it takes the likes of the Westboro Baptist Church to make the KKK look like fine, upstanding citizens
Yesterday, president Barack Obama visited Arlington National Cemetery to place a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and to pay his respects for fallen American military. Of course, the professional trolls of the WBC had to show up with their “God Hates Everything” signs because they’re just awful lumps of aborted flesh like that, but what was surprising is that one of the groups there to counterprotest the WBC was the KKK. And somehow of the two, the KKK suddenly looked like the reasonable ones.
The Turner Exhibit: An Indie Film Needs Your Help!
Hey everyone, my favorite professor from uni is embarking on making a short film, The Turner Exhibit and I am passing along his profile on Kickstarter in case anyone is interested in contributing to a worthwhile endeavor. Anything you can throw his way would be greatly appreciated by both him and I.
Have you heard any reasons why iTunes isn't putting Doctor Who out for download for almost four days after it airs? it wasn't this way at the start of the season but now the last two episodes have been way late.
It’s probably just their contract with BBC America. And they’re pants.
Release date and titles released for the two Hobbit movies

First off… why was there never a generic trademark name for those desktop pin toys? Slinky, Lego, Frisbee… these are all great, simple names that came from a brand name, but that never happened here, so we’re forever forced to awkwardly refer to them as “pin toys” or “pin point impression toy”. What about Pinsy™ or Pinpression™ or Pinnle™ or Pins ‘n Giggles™? SOMETHING. What if you had to go around constantly referring to a Slinky as “that metal helical spring thing that walks down stairs”?
If no legal agreement is reached, Superman could be split into two characters in 2013
Superman’s survived everything that’s been thrown at him, even when he hasn’t. But one thing that Superman might not be so lucky to escape is a legal matter between two parties making claims on the Man of Steel from two different eras in the characters history that threatens to literally split Superman down the middle into two different characters if it’s not resolved by 2013.
Preview and sneak peek for next week's Doctor Who "A Man Goes to War"
Holy fuck and sonic screwdrivers… I’ve got all sorts of goosebumps after watching this new trailer and preview for next week’s Doctor Who, “A Man Goes to War”. Suffice it to say, this won’t be a light-hearted romp through the universe by any means.
