This is one of those rare inventions that could only possibly lead to pain and death when used properly, all in some incredibly misguided attempt to not inconvenience someone else. The point is to try and deter pranksters who would pull the fire alarm, but in the process it only accomplishes 2 things: a) deterring people from using the fire alarm at all, slowing down the response of the fire department or b) use the fire alarm and risk being burned alive while someone shows up with the key to unlock you.
