It’s official: Obama is the Democratic nominee [Politics Suck]

It’s official… when the results of South Dakota and Montana roll in later this evening, Barack Obama will have crossed the line to give him the numbers needed to make him the presumptive Democratic nominee for president.
I’ve been keeping an eye out on the Cheesecake Brigade (hillaryis44.org) and it’s been relatively quiet… at least quieter than expected. What conversation that is going on is related to: setting up carpools to Denver to make asses of themselves outside the Democratic Convention, whining about how the whole thing is rigged, swearing that they would never vote for Obama, even if Clinton were on the ticket, talking about the stupid “Whitey” tape (that’s a complete load of horse crap), hatred for Obama, hatred for the established rules of the Democratic party, cries of some sort of misogynistic plot against her from the beginning, etc etc. I assume that many are balled up in a corner, crying with their mouths full of cheesecake. Thank you, hillaryis44 for making this campaign so much fun. You’re a constant source of crazy entertainment in this crazy election year. Your complete lack of grounding in reality, your insanity, your douchebaggery is so much fun to watch.
There have been a number of highly vocal Clinton supporters who swear that they will vote McCain in November, and McCain has said he will be actively campaigning for their vote. If McCain wins in November, I’m sure all the extremely bitter Clinton supporters who voted for him will enjoy it when one or more Supreme Court Justices keel over or retires and McCain replaces them with Justices that overturn Roe v. Wade. That’ll be exciting.
But it’s also sort of sad to see the primary season come to a close… as much as I often loathed much of the idiotic media portrayal of the Obama vs. Clinton battle, I’m sure there will still be more of it and still more Obama vs. McCain posturing, but the primaries themselves were sort of fun– every Tuesday or Sunday it was like a Pay per View boxing match.
Oh well… on to the convention and onto November.
UPDATE:
Just watched Hillary’s speech and she did in fact did not concede, which judging from the venue and the fact that she was in a huge room full of incredibly rabid supporters, they would have torn the fucking walls down if she dropped out then and there. By the end of the week, guaranteed. Her speech was nothing but “this has been fun, but I’ll need to meet with some people to know where to go from here.”
And then while I’m watching Obama’s speech, I thought it was funny to see this on the sidebar:

It’s sort of stupid… but I’ve watched these things for months and this is the first time I’ve seen this on CNN’s video player regarding the elections… “back to Clinton campaign headquarters… oh, I guess everyone left.”
