BBC recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy text adventure by re-releasing the text adventure as a free flash game on its website, which you can play here.
Believe it or not, there was an entire era of gaming where most games had little or no graphics whatsoever. It was just you and a keyboard, hashing out commands that you hoped the game would understand, like “Pick up flashlight” … “I do not understand pick up” … “Get the fucking flashlight” … “There doesn’t seem to be a fucking here”.
