It’s the Mr. Belvedere no fun Fun Kit! Yaaaay! [I Heart TV]

Dept. of Advertising Nonsense I Heart TV Videos

Back in the 80s, before the days of MySpace, marketers had to work a little harder to get kid’s personal information and so the era of stupid birthday clubs was born.  ALF, The Cabbage Patch Kids, Garfield, Transformers, He-Man– they all tried to tempt kids to send off for a bunch of meaningless, cardboard crap and a birthday card each year so they could feel cool and special or something.

I watched Mr. Belvedere and I never even knew the Mr. Belvedere Fun Kit existed until now.  Because nothing says fun like iron-ons of some old British butler. Now if they had a Cheers Fun Kit, I would be all about that.
