Moment of Zen: Defrosting a colossal squid [News]
May 1st, 2008 • Related • Filed Under
Recently, a very rare colossal squid was caught in Antarctic waters and the whole thing was recently slowly defrosted over a two-day period so they can study the massive beast. That’s colossal squid, not giant. Gianter than giant. Once the thawing was complete, it went into preservative so they can poke and prod its insides and learn more about this gigantic T-rex eating beast. Once the examination is complete, it will be housed at Te Papa Tongarewa, New Zealand’s national museum in Wellington.
