McDonald’s slogans used around the world [Dept. of Advertising Nonsense]

Currently, McDonald’s is using “I’m lovin’ it” as its global slogan, but it’s pretty rare for a corporation of the size and scope of McDonald’s to use a single slogan all around the world. The reason for this is that while “I’m lovin’ it” translates pretty well among a hundred languages, usually this isn’t the case. “Double cheeseburger? I’d hit it!” may make sense to some in English, but it doesn’t translate so well into say Arabic or Taglog.

Instead, McDonald’s will hire clever regional marketing and creative people to mold its branding and message for the local populace. So instead of “Mac Tonight” like we had in the US, you might get “Throw another McFish sandwich on the barbie, mate” in Australia or “Eradicate your hunger with the McDonald’s, the final solution” or whatever the fuck in Germany.

Here’s a partial list of McDonald’s slogans used around the world, past and present via Wikipedia:
