The history of computer data storage in pictures [I Heart Tech]

It’s pretty amazing that these days you can fit weeks of music on an iPod or large amounts of data on a tiny keychain flash drive when it used to be that fitting a few k of data on a floppy or a few hundred bytes on a cassette tape was hot shit.
Yet there was a time when storing a couple hundred bites on something was pretty amazing. And what can a couple hundred bites buy you these days? Not a whole lot of anything.
Pingdom has a great gallery and history of computer data storage, which you can view here. And marvel at the good old days when floppies were floppies and storage was measured in single digits not entire applications.
