Spotlight on: Tom Waits [I Heart Music]

Tom Waits is quite an amazing performer, with a voice that has been described as if “it was soaked in a vat of bourbon, left hanging in the smokehouse for a few months and then taken outside and run over with a car”. Well, so says the mighty Wikipedia, so it must be for-true! In reality, Tom Waits sounds a lot like Louis Armstrong. I suppose you could call him Vanilla Satchmo, if you didn’t mind the fact that he would probably beat your ass. Anyway, the man’s musical history is far too long to go over here. Just sit back and enjoy Tom’s rendition of Chocolate Jesus on Late Night with David Letterman.
