Free Movie Friday: Drugs suck double featurette [I Heart Movies]
This week, we’ve got two shorts for the price of one, both are public service films from the 70s about the world of drugs. The first one is a study by UCLA on weed and acid culture through the life of one guy. The second is a shorter film about a young man who throws his life away through heroin.
First up is Social Seminar: Tom. It’s the story of Tom, a young hippie who goes from the “normal” life into the wild world of pot, LSD and shrooms. It’s unique in that it’s not an anti-drug film or a pro-drug film, but is simply a study of the lifestyle and mindsets of the psychedelic drug user. Tom enjoys surfing, smoking weed, doing shrooms and mescaline, making pots, smoking weed and smoking weed. Click here to watch it full view.
And next is A Day in the Death of Donny B, which as you can guess from the title, is not nearly as neutral as Tom. As a matter of fact, it’s not even close to neutral– it’s fourteen minutes of an entire community talking about what a sad, lonely loser Donny B is for becoming a heroin addict. Click here to watch it full view.
