Website review: American Rhetoric [I Heart Internets]

Barack Obama is considered by some to be one of the best political orators in American history. Hillary Clinton not so much and George W. Bush is probably one of the worst. What can you say, the English language just isn’t his strong suit.
Fortunately, there’s American Rhetoric. American Rhetoric is ugly as hell and is has a confusing interface, but it’s a really great in-depth database of some of the best of American uh, rhetoric. Video, audio and text are available from political speeches, historic speeches, movies and more.
It’s got stuff from Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, JFK, Lyndon Johnson, Obama, FDR among lots of other stuff. Again, it’s sort of confusing to navigate and sometimes you have to be sort of careful to make sure that you’re clicking on an internal link and not an ad, but it’s worth it for history buffs.
Some kewl stuff:
Malcolm X - The Ballet or the Bullet
Reagan’s national address on the Challenger explosion
Barbara Jordan’s 1976 DNC keynote
Dwight Eisenhower - Atoms for Peace
Thanks to Delsyd for the heads up on the site.
