IHC link circle jerk: Sites you’d never know about otherwise [I Heart Internets]
IHC links to other sites all the time. Other sites link to IHC. That’s the circle of life and it’s how the Internet is the Internet. But what’s interesting is who links to who. Since this site went up at the end of December of last year, traffic has gone way up as is expected as content is passed around from one site to the other. Who is linking to IHC? Lots of places.
A whole slew of the suckers who linked to IHC are below. Partly this is a thank you, but mainly really it’s because as I look at the referral records, it’s always great to discover new sites for myself that I never ever would have found had they not linked to this site.
Now this list is not an endorsement of any of the sites, nor is it saying these are good and the others not on this list are bad. Nor is this list in any order at all. This is also not a list of sponsors or friends or people I’m trying to promote for any reason other than that they’re there. This is more or less a random sampling of some of the sites that have linked to IHC in the past couple of months so maybe you can discover them as well and maybe learn something new.
How do you get on this list in the future? Link to IHC somewhere. Simple. Well, not entirely that simple. There are literally thousands of sites that have linked to IHC so it’s sort of dumb luck. Kind of.
Discovering darkened corners of the web through pages that link to IHC:
Fuzzy Squid: A photo blog.
Defamer: One of the Gawker family of blogs, an LA gossip blog.
Slobber Knocker at Stumbleupon: I get quite a large amount of traffic from Stumbleupon, this is the page of one of the SU members.
SE Texas Bayou Blog: Just like it sounds, a blog all about life in the SE Texas Bayou.
Atomic MPC: A computer software, hardware and overclocking magazine.
Pozrisi: Appears to be a Slovakian Digg clone of some sort.
Western NY Music: A site all about the music scene in western NY state.
NetVibes: A news and content aggregator.
Other Crap: A news, current events and links blog.
Linkbitch: News and content aggregator, sort of in a Fark-like style. Sort of.
FHM Magazine: For Him Magazine, one of several magazines in the Maxim family.
MakeUp Alley: A news content aggregator for women.
Gaia Online: Site and message boards for Gaia Online, a web-based RPG.
Gorilla Mask: Weird, fun and sexy content aggregator blog / site / thing.
Preston and Steve: A morning show on 93.3 WMMR-FM in Philadelphia.
CSDN News: No idea. It’s news and it’s entirely in Chinese.
PB Nation: Forum site all about paintball.
MajorGeeks: News and stuff for geeks content aggregation site.
Underground Gamer: A forum site for independent gamers.
Triad Party: Has nothing to do with the Chinese Triad as far as I can tell, but it’s a form site related to the party scene in the NC Triad region.
