Romeo and Juliet are coming to your cellphone– as a platformer [I Heart Games]
The parade of stupid game ideas continues… okay, so the Juno game thing was just a misinterpretation that spread like wildfire as an actual idea, but this one is for real– a mobile device platformer based on Romeo and Juliet. And not the 90s movie either, which has promise, but the original deal.
So instead of playing an Italian plumber, running through 2D levels to save the Princess, you’re an Italian teenager in the 16th century, running around, killing bad guys in order to save your beloved Juliet.
There’s no word on whether Tybalt is like the super bad-guy level where you have to jump around and hit switches and avoid his predictable attack patterns, all the while throwing tiny daggers at him until he starts blinking red– or turns into some sort of giant demon bat. Or whether you go through all the trouble of running and jumping and picking up potions just to kill yourself when you win the game.
The game is made by Ojom and from the looks of the screens below, it looks like– well, a ripoff of Prince of Persia.(And sorry, the screenshots don’t get any bigger. It’s a cellphone game, remember?)
