Skype coming to the PSP [I Heart Tech]
January 31st, 2008 • Related • Filed Under

Well… Sony seems to be the comeback kid lately. With sales of the PS3 and the PSP way up in the US and BluRay poised to destroy HD-DVD in the next-gen format wars, they’ve just thrown a cherry on top– Skype is coming to the PSP in the next 3.90 firmware update for the PSP 2000 (the new slimmer ones that come in white and silver)
With the $20 PSP headset, a wifi connection and of course a Skype account, you’ll be strolling through the hood chatting to anyone in the world for free on your PSP. It’s slightly reminiscent of the “iPod vs PSP” hype from years ago, now maybe updated for an “iPhone vs PSP” discussion.
The 3.90 firmware update will also add updates for Playstation support.
