Fun with high school student’s abandoned emotions [Misc.]

Recently, a co-worker of mine came back from a trip to Utah where she grew up and had with her a high school break-up letter she found in the cafeteria of her old high school. Now there are teenage break-up letters and there are teenage break-up letters. In essence, they’re all the same– I love you but I don’t love you, I just want to be friends, you’ll always be a part of me and other sappy hormone driven drivel that doesn’t mean dick. And there’s the bad spelling and grammar and this letter has all of these… but what other, inferior teenage break up letters don’t have is a final request to know the ex-boyfriend’s favorite gun and car so the girl can have it tattooed on her. That’s a special kind of awesome that just brings tears to our eyes.

I made a transcript of the letter since it’s in pencil and sort of illegible from days of being in my co-worker’s pocket, but you can click on the scans themselves to see the letters large and in charge.

Not your mind or what everyone else is telling you. I will help you with anything that you need help with, but not anything sexual. I have broken my rules for you one to many times I can’t keep doing, especially when there is no future. I may want a future with you in it, but it doesn’t look too bright. I am way sorry, hopefully you will forgive me soon enough. Well text me or whatever when you get this. If you ever want to kidnap me do it my 4th and 8th. I don’t know what my 4th is next semester yet. Bu I still have chemistry. And we still need to go Sweeney Todd again Lol, but yeah. Text me please
